CCT

 

The Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) confirms satisfactory completion of an approved programme of training and is one of the certificates which allows entry to the GMC Specialist or GP Registers.  The processing of your CCT application will take the RCGP Certification Unit 15 working days, assuming that all the CCT requirements have been met.

PSQs

 

PSQs - what are they, how many and what do you do with them?

The Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire (PSQ) provides feedback to GPStRs by providing a measure of the patient’s opinion of the doctor’s relationship and empathy during a consultation.  The evidence provided is useful in helping trainer and GPStR to address needs and facilitate educational development during the training period.

PSQ patient handout - The reception team should hand these out to consecutive patients who are seeing the Trainee until 40 completed forms have been returned to reception or the Practice. The admin team then upload the results from the PSQ forms into the Trainee's e-portfolio.

The Multi-Source Feedback (MSF) tool provides a sample of attitudes and opinions of colleagues on the clinical performance and professional behaviour of the GPStR.

DOPs

 

Direct Observation of Procedural Skills (DOPs)

Direct Observation of Procedural Skills is designed to provide feedback on procedural skills essential to the provision of good clinical care. There are eight mandatory procedures to be covered prior to completion of training.

 

DOPs, mini-CEX etc entries by someone who is not your clinical supervisor

A simple guide for GPs, hospital middle grades or nursing staff who are not your normal assessors as to how they can make e-portfolio entries to confirm demonstrated competencies or perform and complete nMRCGP assessments e.g. DOPS or mini-CEX.
