Half Day Release (HDR)

 

Half day release involves small group work and larger workshops exploring areas of the curriculum which are not covered by workplace based placement.

 

One of the highlights of the week is Half Day Release, an opportunity to meet your colleagues, ‘chew the fat’ and compare experiences over lunch before being involved in a stimulating education session.

 

 

This complements the GP curriculum, particularly those topics which are difficult to cover in Workplace Based Assessment. So you may find yourself learning about a diverse range of topics from refugee or expedition medicine to the challenge of real ethical dilemmas that you may face in general practice.

 

These weekly education events are divided over three terms and are held at either our Halifax or Huddersfield sites on a Tuesday afternoon. See the News section of our home page to discover next weeks topic, the venue and the preparatory work expected from you.
