SMART PDP entries (click) - handout/download The SMART model was developed by psychologists as a tool to help people set and reach their goals. It’s a simple approach that lends itself to creating good PDP entries in your e-portfolio.
Option 2 for the second part of the session - if able to book a computer room & provide preparatory work in advance
Ensure the GPSTs have read the Educational Supervision downloads and have brought their e-portfolio logins. At the start of the second session ask them to form into three groups ST1, ST2 and ST3 and from them pair up or form triplets with the same ST years in each triplet and each triplet to review one of their e-portfolios at the computer station using the Educational Supervision form as guidance. If anyone feels unable to share their e-portfolio they can join a facilitated group to discuss the use of the e-portfolio using the incomplete e-portfolio entries outlined in option 1.
At the end of the session GPSTs to consider what they will put in their e-portfolio entry relating to this session.

Session 14 - First half of the session is an explanation of PBL using a PowerPoint presentation followed by breaking into small groups to establish the ground rules for the group and to allocate roles within the group.

Session 15 - First half of the session is the PBL feedback/debrief in small groups while the second half of the session is further small group work on a new PBL scenario.
Session 16 - First half of the session is the PBL feedback/debrief in small groups while the second half takes a completely different tack, as it gets GPSTs to explore and suggest phrases and tips for achieving COT competencies using the 'poor consultation' video clip.
1. Read out the case summary (click).

Use only the first 3 mins of GPST videos. The GPSTS (working in small groups) will divide themselves up into three subgroups which have to identify visual, auditory and Kinaesthetic cues followed by feedback to the group and then a 'frame by frame' review of the first 3 mins to observe the cues.
